Marysol James is a self-published romance writer; she’s written 32 books to date, spread over six bestselling series. She landed in this career utterly by happy accident, and by doing so, she learned the value of deviating from a set path, and embracing opportunities outside of the box.
She's a Canadian who is now living in England, and in between, she's lived in Poland (for 16 years) and in Asia (for five years). She travelled extensively in that time, completely by herself and with only a backpack.
Eighteen months ago, she ended a very abusive narcissistic relationship and has spent the time healing and rebuilding her life from literally zero. She is the creator of several programs aimed at high-achieving women who have also survived narcissistic abuse with intimate partners, and she is now expanding into public speaking.
In her talk ‘Coveting the Jewel: How Narcissists Exploit High-Achieving Women’ Marysol explores how women who shine brightly—like rare and valuable gems—can unknowingly attract those who seek to diminish their light for control and validation. This empowering session offers both insight and strategy, guiding attendees to reclaim their inner clarity, strength, and the unbreakable brilliance of the jewel within.
In essence, Marysol is someone who has found herself through falling into romance writing, and by getting lost while travelling, and by finding her dignity and strength in leaving an abusive situation. She has definitely found her own way, and her own success, by doing things that deviated from the paths that she thought she was on... and she's so much happier for it!
