Madeleine Black is an author, speaker, sexual violence activist, former psychotherapist and hosts her podcast show called “Unbroken: Healing Through Storytelling”
After decades of silence, Madeleine decided to share her own story publicly online in September 2014 and she completely underestimated what the response would be.
Violently attacked at the age of thirteen, Madeleine’s story is one of pain – but also of healing, resilience and forgiveness. She uses her voice to help others speak out, find their courage, challenge their mindset and live their life fully
She is passionate about speaking out to end the shame, stigma and silence surrounding sexual violence and to help others find their courage and voice too
She says that “None of us are broken beyond repair”

This is an example talk for Madeleine Black

Shame is an unspoken epidemic and it can hold so many of us back when we listen to it. Having previously spoken at TEDx Glasgow, Madeleine Black returns to the TEDxUniversityOfGlasgow stage to show how she had to stand ups to her shame, and in doing so found her voice and purpose through sharing her story.
An author and speaker base in Glasgow, she has made it her aim to help others find their voice, strength and end the stigma surrounding sexual violence
