Biography:
Jodi Lynn Pavlock
Jodi Lynn Pavlock is an American author, filmmaker, speaker, and advocate for survivors of narcissistic abuse. A New Jersey native, Pavlock has transformed deeply personal experiences into a mission of helping others recognize toxic relationships, reclaim their confidence, and rebuild their lives.
Pavlock is the author of Jekyll Can’t Hyde, a candid memoir published in December 2024. The book chronicles her experiences with narcissistic relationships, manipulation, emotional abuse, and the difficult journey from surviving to reclaiming her life. Rather than presenting her story solely as one of hardship, Pavlock uses humor, honesty, and vulnerability to show readers that healing and happiness are possible after abuse. (Apple)
Her journey into writing began as a way to make sense of experiences that had profoundly affected her. Through Jekyll Can’t Hyde, she found a larger purpose: giving a voice to people who may be experiencing similar circumstances but feel isolated, confused, or afraid to speak about them.
Pavlock has also expanded her work beyond the written page. Publicly available biographical material describes her as a survivor who became educated in narcissistic-abuse recovery and subsequently pursued certification as a narcissistic-abuse recovery coach. She has worked to build a supportive community for survivors and has participated in podcasts and other media appearances to raise awareness about narcissistic abuse. (StreetInsider.com)
Her creative work has also moved into film. Pavlock wrote, directed, produced, and appeared in the short film Abusive, based on material from Jekyll Can’t Hyde. The film explores a woman’s experience of romance and abuse at the hands of a narcissistic partner. (IMDb)
Before becoming an author and filmmaker, Pavlock had a diverse professional background. A 2025 podcast interview describes her New Jersey upbringing, early passion for music, experience as a trumpet player and vocalist, and nearly two decades working as a school bus driver. (Apple Podcasts)
Today, Pavlock’s work centers on turning adversity into purpose. Through her writing, film, public conversations, and survivor-focused advocacy, she seeks to break the silence surrounding narcissistic abuse and encourage people to understand that being trapped in an abusive relationship does not have to define the rest of their lives.
Her message is ultimately one of resilience: survival is not the end of the story—it can be the beginning of taking your life back.
