- Helen Moses, Voice Empowerment and Communication Specialist, TEDx Speaker Coach, and team trainer, launched her first coaching business in 2013. In her business, Speak Up Communications, she incorporates her extensive training and experience as a singer, speech-language pathologist, Distinguished Toastmaster, and church and community leader. Helen holds a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Rhodes College and a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from East Carolina University. She directed a children’s choir for 12 years and has been a choir member and featured soloist for over 35 years. A sought-out coach, trainer, and speaker who has presented to Fortune 1000 companies, Helen inspires audiences to change their lives through speaking up and speaking to connect—every time they talk. In and outside of her work, Helen is on a mission to facilitate communication across divisions, using her Speak Up with Heart® philosophy and techniques.

Helen has over 30 years of combined training and experience as a classically-trained singer, speech-language pathologist, Distinguished Toastmaster, and leader in her church and community. She holds a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Rhodes College and a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from East Carolina University. She directed a children’s choir for 12 years and has been a choir member and featured soloist since her youth. Helen is the author of the Amazon best-seller Voice Unleashed: Speaking Up with Faith and Courage, available in paperback, eBook, and audiobook formats. She has been selected to take the TEDx stage herself, speaking in June 2022.
Helen’s speaking style is both conversational and engaging. She incorporates vulnerability and humor, and encourages audience participation in a number of creative and fun ways. Her audiences leave feeling inspired and give her excellent reviews.
She currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with her husband of 24 years. They have a son in college and a daughter in high school, as well as two cats.
