I am Ghazaleh, an Iranian international artist rooted in Persian cultural heritage and shaped by a lifelong engagement with the art of writing. Raised in Iran, I began practicing traditional Nastaliq calligraphy in childhood. At around the age of 23, I moved to Tehran to pursue calligraphy more deeply, dedicating myself to the study and practice of traditional Persian calligraphy, as well as Kufic. Over the years, I developed expertise in several classical Persian and Arabic scripts, including Nastaliq, Shekasteh Nastaliq, and Kufic. For the past eight years, I have been developing a contemporary approach to calligraphy, exploring new forms of expression beyond traditional written compositions.

I currently live and work in Italy, where I moved to pursue my Master’s degree while continuing to develop my artistic practice. Alongside my studies, I have taught Persian calligraphy through online classes and in-person workshops in Rome and Treviso, sharing this art with an international audience.

My artistic practice explores the transformation of letters into contemporary visual forms, combining calligraphy, abstraction, rhythm, and composition. In Italy, I have presented two solo exhibitions, collaborated with galleries, and continued to expand my practice through exhibitions, workshops, and commissions.
