Dr. April Renee Ruffin, a 2015 graduate of Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, transitioned from a General Surgery Internship at Morehouse School of Medicine to discover her true passion in Internal Medicine, completing her residency at the University of South Alabama in 2019. Her exemplary leadership during residency led to improvements in resident wellness, graduate education, and community service. As a physician she teaches medical students and resident physicians, emphasizing her commitment to medical education. Beyond patient care, Dr. Ruffin, as Founder and CEO of Renee Health, is dedicated to addressing health literacy and healthcare disparities. A Maryland native she extends her impact by mentoring youth and co-founding Young Deb Inc, a non-profit providing mentorship and performing arts outreach. Dr. Ruffin seeks speaking opportunities to share her expertise, welcoming paid or exposure-increasing engagements in podcasts, keynotes, panel discussions, and motivational speaking.
