Our free fortnightly 1 hour networking event, designed to help you connect.

History:

Pay-It-Forward Networking started in 2019, determined to help local micro-businesses to grow. Focused on delivering value, not selling to the room, attendees had a great opportunity to mingle, listen to speakers, & get to know one another. But we don't have all day, & so in this virtual world we live in, Pay-It-Forward Networking is NOW ONLINE, & shortened to just 60 minutes, providing a wider reach to everyone, making it perfect for a chance to network over lunch!

Agenda:

Online, with a 1 hour time limit (plus an extra 15 minutes for the early birds), this event will operate the following agenda:

1. Early Birds 11:45-12:00

• Early bird networking - time to chat and test your connection! (Are you on Mute?!)

2. The Main Event - 12:00 - `(Prompt start. Make it or Miss out!)

• 2 minute intro (Welcome + 2 minutes of rules to help all go smoothly)
• Round the room virtual directory (bite sized rooms for bite-sized intros)
• Intro + 7 minute speaker - (A talk designed to help you & your business)
• 1:1 Speed Networking - (Get to meet one another 1:1)
• 'Select your own room' networking - Pick a Room. Any Room! (You choose!)
• Meeting wrap-up + Final chance to 'save the chat'!

3. Event Close - 13:00

• After-party - The Post meeting drift is your chance to continue conversations if time & availability allows

The rules:

To save valuable time repeating what most of us already know, we've set out the rules below. If you don't want to follow them, we are sure there will be other events for you elsewhere.

1. Respect others - Zero tolerance for insults, inequality or injustice
2. Stay on mute whenever possible - Not everyone needs to know you have a delivery!
3. Don't sell to the room - This isn't a carnival! Take it slow! Get to know, like & trust!
4. Listen - Many people talk themselves out of an opportunity. It's almost impossible to listen yourself out of one!
5. If you have a virtual background, use it. It'll help you be remembered for your brand, not just your amazing looks!
6. If you need to go, don't announce it. You're not in school, and you don't need to get permission!
7. Use the chat box wisely. If you expect others to read it, don't write them an essay!
8. Connect ONLY with people you want to connect with. It's not a race to get the most unused connections!
9. Don't part with any money! PIF networking is FREE!
10. Parts of the event may be recorded (main room + public chat), so keep smiling :)
11. Set up 1-2-1's with people you want to get to know, but make sure the time is used wisely!
12. If you are placed in the same room with someone more than once, either return to the main room, or take those precious minutes to find out more about how you can each help one the other. (We've got some great top tips on this too!)
13. If you want to promote an event, such as another networking event, that's fine, but please do so with subtlety! (See point 3!)
14. Report anyone who breaks the rules. We want this to be an enjoyable safe space, to meet like-minded people, & enhance your business!
15. Have fun! We can't turn back time, so make the best of each moment! Let's make this entertaining & rewarding for all!
