Description

Call For Speakers

The Author Impact Summit is designed for mission-driven authors who want their books to do far more than sit quietly on Amazon.

This summit is for nonfiction authors, memoirists, children's book authors with a clear mission, coaches, consultants, experts, and purpose-driven business owners who want to use their books to expand their impact, grow their audience, open doors to speaking and partnerships, and change lives.

I'm seeking dynamic, generous speakers who can help authors see what becomes possible when their book turns into a mission-driven asset rather than a product for sale.

Are you a fit for this summit?

I'm looking for speakers who can address topics that help authors put their books into action, expand their reach, and create meaningful opportunities from the message they've already written or are preparing to write.

Possible speaker topics include:

  • Using a book to grow an audience and build authority
  • Turning a book into speaking opportunities
  • Getting booked on podcasts, stages, panels, and events
  • Building a message platform around a book
  • Helping authors identify the mission, transformation, and audience behind their book
  • Creating a visibility plan after the book is published
  • Using a book to support a coaching, consulting, service, or mission-based business
  • Creating partnerships, school visits, community conversations, or organizational opportunities from a book
  • Helping memoirists and mission-driven authors connect their story to a larger message
  • Marketing a book beyond Amazon ads and passive book sales
  • Using media, PR, interviews, or events to spread a book's message
  • Building funnels, lead magnets, or audience pathways connected to a book
  • Social media strategy for authors who want impact, not just attention
  • Publishing, editing, legal, copyright, or book production topics that support the author's larger mission
  • Any topic that helps authors move from "my book is done" to "my book is working for me and the people I wrote it for"

This summit isn't focused on general genre fiction, mystery, romance, or books without a clear mission or transformation.

If you:

  • Have a proven track record of helping authors, speakers, coaches, experts, entrepreneurs, or mission-driven messengers
  • Offer valuable insights that help authors use their book to create impact, visibility, audience growth, clients, engagement, or opportunities
  • Can deliver an engaging, educational presentation that truly serves the audience
  • Have an audience that includes mission-driven authors, aspiring authors, coaches, consultants, speakers, experts, memoirists, or purpose-led business owners
  • Are willing to promote the summit to your audience

then I'd love for you to apply to speak.

About the event

  • The Book Into Action Summit is a public virtual event that's completely free to attend. Because we're not charging for tickets, there's a limited marketing budget, so I'm looking for aligned speaker partners who'll share valuable content and actively promote the event to their audiences.
  • VIP Ticket Upgrades: The speaker sessions are free to attend. A VIP upgrade will be available for $27 before the summit, $37 during the summit, and $47 after the summit. VIP ticket holders receive access to the summit recordings and approved VIP gifts from speakers.
  • Dates: Wednesday, September 2nd to Friday, September 4th, 2026. The summit runs across Wednesday through Friday.
  • Session times: Sessions run live during the event, from 11 AM ET / 10 AM CT / 8 AM PT onward each day.
  • Format: The summit is hosted virtually on Zoom. Speaker sessions may be delivered live with a presentation or interview, or supplied as a prerecorded presentation or interview, depending on final scheduling and approval. Each session should be educational, practical, and directly relevant to mission-driven authors who want to use their book to create more impact, visibility, audience growth, and opportunity.
  • Audience: Mission-driven authors and aspiring authors who are actively thinking about how to bring their book, message, and mission into the world more powerfully (more detail below).
  • Session Length: Each session is approximately 45 minutes, including introduction, your presentation, and audience Q&A if time allows.
  • Opportunity: Connect with a focused, highly aligned audience of authors who see their book as a tool for impact. This is a strong fit if your work supports authors in visibility, speaking, marketing, publishing, messaging, media, business growth, audience building, or mission-driven impact.

Who you'll be speaking to

The people in this audience never wrote a book simply to sell copies. They wrote to teach, to heal, to encourage, and to leave a mark on the people who need their message most. Many are women over 40, coaches, consultants, small business owners, and experts who poured decades of hard-won wisdom onto the page, believing it would finally give their message the reach it deserved.

Right now, many of them feel a quiet mix of pride and disappointment. Pride that they actually finished the book, and disappointment that it's sitting still, gathering dust while the message they believe in goes unheard. They want their book to become an active part of their business and mission, to open doors to aligned clients and meaningful conversations, and to share it with confidence without feeling salesy.

The summit audience includes:

  • Mission-driven nonfiction authors
  • Authors whose books are connected to a message, cause, transformation, or body of work
  • Coaches, consultants, experts, and service providers who've written or are writing a book connected to their client work
  • Women 40+ with lived experience, expertise, or wisdom they want to share through a book
  • Memoirists whose story is meant to help others
  • Children's book authors when the book has a clear mission, message, or transformation
  • Authors who want to speak, teach, lead conversations, grow an audience, or create opportunities from their book

When you speak directly to their frustrations and their hopes, your session will land deeply. They're looking for someone who understands what it feels like to have something important to say and to be searching for the way to help it reach the right people.

Partner guidelines

  • Curated roster: Speaker spots are limited and carefully curated. I'm looking for speakers who clearly serve this audience and support the purpose of the summit, not anyone who can loosely connect a topic to authorship.
  • Relevance: Your presentation must align with the summit theme and be directly relevant to mission-driven authors. The best sessions help attendees see what's possible when their book becomes a tool for impact, visibility, connection, and opportunity.
  • Content: Focus on delivering valuable, educational content with minimal self-promotion. Introduce yourself and your expertise briefly, then move into teaching key concepts, strategies, examples, or mindset shifts that genuinely help the audience. The summit is designed to create insight and momentum for attendees, so please keep your teaching adjacent, valuable, and aligned rather than a complete step-by-step implementation path.
  • Promotion: Promote the summit to your email list and social media audience. I'll provide promotional graphics, copy, and a personalized speaker link. Ideal promotional times are:
    • 1 to 2 weeks before the summit
    • 1 to 2 days before the summit
    • The day before your talk
    • The day of your talk
  • Restrictions: No promotion of paid offers or affiliate links during your presentation. Any links shared with the audience must be pre-approved. You may offer a free gift to the audience to grow your list, provided it's relevant and valuable. Your gift may not be a calendar appointment or meeting unless that's offered as a paid engagement on your homepage. Your VIP gift cannot be a free trial with a paid upgrade, cannot require a credit card, and cannot include hidden conditions. It must be provided free of charge.
Click here to read more about Gifts and VIP Gifts.
  • Participation Requirements: It's free to speak if you follow the speaker guidelines and secure at least 25 registrants for the summit using your personalized speaker link. If you choose not to promote, or if you can't meet the minimum participation requirement, your speaker spot may be reviewed or removed. Click here to find out more about why we have the Participation Requirements rule.

Why promotion matters

Since we're not charging the audience to attend, there isn't a budget to promote the event with ads.

I'm bringing my own audience to the summit, but the event works best when every speaker participates as a true partner. By sharing the summit with your audience, you help bring more mission-driven authors into the conversation, increase attendance, create stronger engagement, and expand the visibility of all speakers.

This is an opportunity to serve a highly aligned audience for free, while building trust, visibility, and connection with people who may need exactly what you offer.

Apply to speak

Ready to share your expertise and help mission-driven authors bring their books back to life? Click the "Apply" button below and complete your speaker application.

I'll review your application, and if approved, I'll send you further information about next steps, speaker expectations, promotion, and scheduling.

I look forward to learning more about your work and how you can help authors turn their books into action.

Make Your Message as Powerful as the Work You Do
Brynn Breuner

Authors and thought leaders often do complex, transformational work that can be difficult to explain. In this session, Brynn Breuner reveals the real reason smart, talented entrepreneurs still struggle with the words to describe their work. Brynn introduces the Messaging Wheel — her tool for mapping a business at a glance, so clients see themselves in your message and lean in instead of nodding with polite disinterest. Backed by 30+ years in messaging and brand strategy, plus five years coaching TEDx speakers, this session blends real client transformation stories with a live, actionable framework audiences can start using immediately.

The Book Restart: From Stalled Sales to Renewed Impact
Donna Knutson Writing Coach

Wait. Nobody told you once you put your book on Amazon that it might not turn into an instant best-seller?

Seriously, is your book NOT reaching the people you wanted it to?

If you've done everything you know how to do, or you're exhausted and need a fresh start (with some back-up)--you are in the right place.

Before you jump into another marketing strategy, reconnect with why you wrote your book in the first place.

Who did you want to reach?

What transformation did you hope to make possible for your reader?

And what did you want your book to do in the world?

In this interactive session, Writing Coach and Book Strategist Donna Knutson will help you reconnect with your book’s vision and define—or rediscover—its mission.

This isn’t just another talk. It’s a restart. Let’s put your book back in motion.

Stop Pitching, Start Partnering: How to Become the Author Every Bookstore Wants to Host
Dr. Sharifa Akilah Trinay Parr Owner, CEO

Getting your book into a bookstore isn’t the goal—building a partnership that benefits you, the bookstore, and its community is. As a bookstore owner, publisher, and author, I’ll take you behind the counter to share what I’m really looking for when authors approach my bookstore. I’ll explain why simply introducing yourself as an author or asking for a book signing isn’t enough, what makes me want to learn more about an author and their work, and how you can approach bookstores with ideas that create mutual value rather than more work for the owner or staff. We’ll talk about the business realities behind bookstore decisions, the importance of knowing your audience, and how your book can become the starting point for experiences, conversations, and community connections. My goal is to help you stop asking, “How can I get my book into this bookstore?” instead: “What can we create together?”

How to Talk About What You Do So to Be the Obvious Choice for Your Ideal Clients
Judy Murdoch Word of Mouth Marketing Expert

As a purpose-led service expert you probably love the work you do and you especially love making a positive difference for your clients. It's probably the reason you started a business to begin with.

What you probably don't like is marketing. In particular you may feel that most marketing tools make it difficult to fully communicate the personal nature of your work and the results you help you clients attain. You may feel frustrated because you put a lot of time and money into creating and promoting offers but you're not seeing much in the way of actual sales.

It's not your fault. Most marketing advice is based on consumer product marketing; low-cost, low-involvement products meant to be sold at high volume.

In this presentation you'll learn how to use a personal, story-based approach to quickly gain your potential clients interest and trust.

The Brand Behind the Book: How to Turn Your Expertise, Story & Authority into Clients, Visibility, Speaking Opportunities & Strategic Connections
Rochelle Hemingway CEO, SLAY To Success®️

The Brand Behind the Book

Writing a book establishes your expertise, but the book alone does not build the visibility, credibility, or opportunities you want. In this engaging presentation, Rochelle “SLAY” Hemingway shows authors how to leverage the brand behind the book to become more visible, memorable, and positioned for opportunity. Your book should be more than a finished product...it should be a strategic asset that opens doors to speaking engagements, clients, partnerships, media opportunities, and meaningful connections.

Rochelle will explore how your image, executive presence, personal brand, messaging, and positioning work together to amplify the authority already contained in your story and expertise. You will discover how to move from simply being known as an author to being recognized as the expert, leader, and go-to authority behind the book.

Because your book may get you noticed, but your brand is what makes you memorable.

One Book, Many Doors! Make Your Book Work Long After Launch Day!
Summer Diya Selva Business Strategist & Productivity Coach

You put enormous energy into writing and launching your book, then wonder what comes next.

I believe the real opportunity often begins after the book is published. In this session, I’ll show you how to turn one book into ongoing visibility, conversations, collaborations, speaking opportunities, podcast interviews, and potential clients.

I’ll help you find the right audiences, create one clear next step for your readers, stay visible long after launch week, and build relationships around your message.

Your book is not allowed to be a one-time event. Let's help it become the starting point for much more.

From Published to Powerful: Build the Author Business Brain That Puts Your Book to Work
Wilda Kier Founder.Publisher.Author

Your book is more than a product on Amazon.

In this practical session, publisher, author, and AI business strategist Wilda Kier will show authors how to organize the knowledge, stories, frameworks, research, and resources behind their book into an Author Business Brain.

Many authors have valuable content scattered across manuscripts, notebooks, emails, interviews, computer folders, cloud drives, and social media posts. Because their intellectual property is disorganized, they consistently struggle to market their book, create content, prepare for interviews, develop speaking topics, or recognize the opportunities already hidden inside their work.

Wilda will teach authors how to identify what they already have, organize their book-related assets, uncover missing materials, and create a simple system that supports speaking, media, partnerships, client attraction, and continued audience growth.

Attendees will leave understanding how to transform one book into an organized platform for greater visibility, authority, income, and impact without constantly starting over.
