Using sustainable farming practices, including regenerative methods that minimize fertilizer use. Utilizing natural soil improvement methods, like composting, and mulching with grass, manure and leaves to maintain soil fertility. Cindy inquired about the materials used for mulching and composting, and how these methods affect soil texture. They use terraces and cutoffs to reduce soil erosion.

Water Conservation Methods and Challenges

Water conservation methods, including planting in ridges and mounds to increase root development, using drip irrigation, and harvesting rainwater. There is a need for storage tanks and small dams to improve irrigation efficiency. The use of sandy dumps and barriers to slow water flow and prevent evaporation, as well as the importance of planting drought-resistant trees. They have experience with creating a well using a barrier system, which collects water from rain.
