The Heart, Science, and Psychology of Writing a Lead-Generating, Client-Attracting, World-Changing Book
Ben Gioia ("joya") Book Coach, Strategist, and Advisor

Chances are, a book is good for your business. Because it gives you instant authority and credibility. You immediately stand out as an expert or thought leader, so it’s easier to attract more leads, clients, and opportunities. And, you get to tell your story and share your message. But the big problem is that most people think they don’t have the time to write a book. Or they think don’t have anything to say. Or that they’re not a good writer.

The good news is that none of this is true! Ben will debunk the biggest myths about books—while showing you that it is both simple and possible—to get your book done… before the end of this year! Plus, you can stop competing for business, grow a business that’s aligned with who you are, and attract your best opportunities with a world-class book.

Your Life Matters: How to Value Yourself as a Writer Standing Tall in Your Power as a Bestselling Author
Junie Swadron CEO and Author Mentor

Our lives are made up of a series of stories and not one is the same as another. Each of us are so incredibly unique and we all know that stories are what connects us to our humanity. We also know that truth is stranger than fiction! Reflecting back on our lives is one of the richest endeavours we can undertake.  Socrates said, “An unexamined life is not worth living” and what I think he meant was that without reflection we are deprived of meaning and the purpose of existence.

As a psychotherapist and writing coach for over 30 years, one of my favourite things in life is to help people know that their life matters. Not everyone wants to write a book about it.  And even those who know in their soul that it is something they truly do want, they often sabotage themselves with unrelenting negative self-talk - things like, “I don’t really have a story worth telling”, or “there’s so many stories like mine out there already”, or my favourite, “I can’t spell”.

If you have a dream to write a book, and people have been telling you for years that you should, and that this dream keeps coming back, consider that it is not a dream, that it is your Destiny.

Perhaps your book is your personal life story that you wish to leave as a legacy to share the wisdom you have gleaned over your lifetime, or you are an entrepreneur and you want to convey your passion - what you have discovered that will help others to find their way in the world, if so this presentation is for you!

You will learn tools to bust through your blocks to write with confidence and ease, write with your most authentic voice, learn how the pain from your past contributes to your life's greatest gifts and lessons, and that Your Life Matters!

One of my favourite things to do is offer Author Mentorship Retreats worldwide. This next one is in Nanaimo, BC, Canada from January 26 - 30, 2025. Here is the link for more information: https://bethlehemcentre.com/program/2906/author-mentorship-bootcamp/

My motto is “The sweet whisperings of your soul meets you on the page, and something shifts. You strengthen, you begin to stand taller. Then one day, you begin to notice that your voice on the page has become your voice in the world.”

The Fictive Spell: How to entrance your reader on every page
Jacqui Lofthouse Founder of The Writing Coach

We all know the feeling of being lost in a narrative, wanting to hang onto the author's every word and to remain in the world that they have conjured for us. This is the feeling every reader wants when they pick up a book in a bookshop and read the first page, and it's what agents and publishers are longing to discover.

Yet the ‘Fictive Spell’ can prove elusive to us as writers. In this interactive session, we will unpick the elements that enable the reader to get ‘lost’ in the story. This goes beyond hooks and plot, and enters into the realm of voice, of realism, of truthfulness and of our devotion to our text. When reading manuscripts for authors, it is the moments where the spell ‘breaks' that I dive deep in my feedback.

You will leave this session with a clearer sense of how to engage your reader on a deep level and make them long to turn the page.

Coaching Writers to Become Authors
Natalie Hanemann Writing Coach, Developmental Editor

What's the difference between a writer and an author? This is a subject of debate, but to cut through the pomposity, I suggest the difference is simple: A writer becomes an author when they complete their WIP. They may go on to publish it or they may put in on a proverbial shelf in the attic. What matters is they took an idea and saw it through to completion. I coach authors who are brand-new at the game and those who, while seasoned, need help with crafting or accountability. Coaching them through a series of steps, together we work toward the goal: a completed manuscript. What writers ultimately look for is an objective person they can share their ideas with, get feedback from, and hold them accountable to their schedules. Like in athletics, coaching takes an equal measure of patience, perseverance, and faith in the person even when they don't have faith in themselves. In the presentation, I will share best practices and a list of do's and don'ts to protect coaches from client pitfalls. For the coach, the best feedback one can hear is the client saying, “I could have never done that without you.”

Jay-Jay Flanagan-Grannemann Book Editor/Formatter/Audiobook Narrator

Key Takeaways:

They will be provided tips for various ways to do that, and will receive instruction on what to consider including in a World Bible to accompany the manuscript to make life easier for both the editor and the author in the long run.

Why You Need an Editor (And Why AI Just Won't Cut It)
Britta Franceschi Line Editor

You have spent so much time, effort, sweat, and tears to bring your manuscript to life, and you may have even gone through two or three drafts. Editing is your next step, but is it really necessary to hire an editor when access to AI is free?

My name is Britta, and I am a professional line editor; what I love is language and playing around with words. The definitions, connotations, etymology, and style of words affects the register and tone of writing, and needs to be looked at in the context of genre, style, and intended audience. What I do is make sure you are using these tools effectively for your purpose.

In this talk, I would like to introduce you to the editorial process, focusing mostly on the line editing stage. We'll look at the details of what an editor does, why it's important, and why using AI alone isn't going to get your book ready for publication. I'll explain the difference between a human editor and an AI program, and why editing professionals are fundamental to your publishing success.

Lets Get Engaged! 7 Surefire Ways to Engage Audiences & Attract Clients
Marla Press Founder of Speakers on Fire Academy

Get your audience (of one or many) to be so engaged with you that when you propose a long-term relationship (haha a marriage of sorts), they say “yes.”

Your audience doesn't just want information, they want engagement, entertainment, and connection. The old ways of speaking that ask people to raise their hand or put something in the chat are not as effective anymore and not much fun. Marla will show you 7 ways to engage your audience that keep their attention, and keep them wanting more.

This will be an interactive, engaging session so don't miss out. This is for you if you are an author who wants to promote your book even if you don't think of yourself as a speaker.

Put a ring on it! When you make an offer, don't propose a plastic ring. Offer a shiny ring in a package from Tiffany's that is exciting, enticing, valuable, and they know what they are getting with that “ring” (offer).

When you engage your audience and fire them up, you will be a speaker on fire and attract clients, wealth, and joy.
