Creating an Audio Version of Your Book is Much Easier than you Think
Kris Keppeler Audiobook Narrator and Producer

There is a tremendous amount of misinformation about audiobook narration and production. This leads many authors to not consider one or spend money to self-narrate and still not have a published audiobook. My presentation clears up these issues.

I detail whether to self-narrate and what it takes to make that decision, how to find the perfect narrator, and the distribution platforms and their pros and cons. I'll also touch on fiction versus nonfiction narration and whether it's a good idea to even make an audiobook version.

Coaching Writers to Become Authors
Natalie Hanemann Writing Coach, Developmental Editor

What's the difference between a writer and an author? This is a subject of debate, but to cut through the pomposity, I suggest the difference is simple: A writer becomes an author when they complete their WIP. They may go on to publish it or they may put in on a proverbial shelf in the attic. What matters is they took an idea and saw it through to completion. I coach authors who are brand-new at the game and those who, while seasoned, need help with crafting or accountability. Coaching them through a series of steps, together we work toward the goal: a completed manuscript. What writers ultimately look for is an objective person they can share their ideas with, get feedback from, and hold them accountable to their schedules. Like in athletics, coaching takes an equal measure of patience, perseverance, and faith in the person even when they don't have faith in themselves. In the presentation, I will share best practices and a list of do's and don'ts to protect coaches from client pitfalls. For the coach, the best feedback one can hear is the client saying, “I could have never done that without you.”
